Sometimes dying with the truth is better than living with a lie.
All Shauna McAllister wanted was peace with her dysfunctional family. She got a lot more than she bargained for.
Waking up in the hospital, Shauna finds that 6 months of her memory have been wiped out. She’s spent the last six weeks in a coma after a car accident which left her brother devastatingly injured and her family shaken. Even worse, she’s accused of being on drugs and therefore causing the crash. And she can’t even remember the fateful night in order to defend herself.
She must slowly recover, piece by piece, the memory of the days leading up to the incident.
But how can she get the memory back?
I’m a complete Dekker fan, and I had high expectations for this book. Ted did not disappoint. I stayed up late into the night, unable to put the book down - I had to know what would happen to Shauna!
I had never heard of Erin Healy before I heard about this book, and silently I wondered if the Dekker suspense and thrill which I loved so much would be in any way diminished by adding another author to the mix. I was not disappointed at all. It wasn’t 50% Ted plus 50% Erin - it was 100% Ted plus 100% Erin to make something with all the twists and surprises which Dekker fans have come to expect, yet a softer, more feminine side which was clearly Erin’s influence.
All in all, I would give this book a five out of five stars. I have already re-read it twice and each time it still thrills me.
Keep up the good work, Erin and Ted!
